Ideally located between Seattle and Tacoma, the City of Federal Way, Washington, (population 88,580), provides a distinct regional advantage, with the ports of Seattle and Tacoma, Bellevue and the technology corridor, and Sea-Tac Airport all located within a 30-minute drive from the City. In the years since its incorporation in 1990, Federal Way has fostered quality commercial and residential growth, while enhancing the quality of life for its residents with infrastructure improvements, a growing job base, diverse recreational opportunities, and new neighborhood parks.
Reporting to the City Council, the City Manager directs and supervises all activities of the City departments, appoints and removes all staff, and implements policy as established by the City Council. The City has 340 FTEs, and an annual budget of $136 million and a general fund budget of $43 million. |

| Requirements |
| Competitive candidates should have at least seven to ten years of senior public sector management experience, such as city manager/administrator, deputy/assistant, or department director, in a city or county or other applicable public sector agency of similar or larger complexity and size. A bachelor’s degree in public administration, business, or other applicable field is required. A master’s degree is preferred. |
