The Seattle School District seeks a forward thinking, collaborative, energetic Senior Budget Analyst who is prepared to take a significant role in meeting the District’s objectives for safe, clean, and healthy schools. Seattle Public Schools (SPS) is the largest district in Washington, with more than 45,000 students in 93 schools. It serves an economically, ethnically, and racially diverse population that is expected to grow at a rate of approximately 4% in the next three years. Reporting to the Assistant Budget Manager, this position is responsible for developing and producing capital fund budget reports, participating in the development and interpretation of capital budgets, monitoring capital expenditures, resolving financial problems and conducting fiscal analyses related to capital funds. The person in this position is responsible for budget analysis of the Seattle Public School’s two levy and/or bond program budgets including analysis of District capital fund revenues, expenditures, and cash flows necessary to support decision making by elected officials and senior staff. |

| Requirements |
Applicants must have a Bachelor’s degree in financial management, public or business administration or a closely related field AND five (5) years of progressively responsible capital fund budget experience in the development and use of capital fund reports, budget development, forecasting revenue, and analysis in a complex and fast paced work setting comparable to the Seattle School District. A Master's degree in public or business administration, accounting or a closely related field may substitute for two years of the required experience.
Excellent computer skills and experience using spreadsheet, charting, and other software tools, such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook are required. Knowledge of and/or experience using project management software such as Oracle or Primavera is required. SAP experience is preferred. |
